Goodrich Global

No one knows the potentials of living spaces better than Yasushi Furukawa, the Chief Operating Officer at Goodrich Global.

After all, Goodrich Global has been furnishing spaces both commercial and residential for 37 years and counting. Since its conversion as a subsidiary of Sangetsu Corporation, Goodrich Global continues to be a market leader in delivering architectural solutions through an extensive range of wallcovering, fabric, carpet and flooring materials in Asia. The merger on 2018 was a natural progression in view that the history of both companies are closely intertwined as working partners for over two decades.

Craftmanship steeped in heritage

The company owed its humble beginnings to supplying only wallcoverings in 1983. Today, its extensive product collections are sourced worldwide to cater to a multitude of interior themes and personal expressions. So if one wants an immediate interior transformation without breaking the bank, start with a wall.

“Consider walls and floors as spaces to impress, experiment and energise a living area – quickly. No matter what kind of home you live in, the correct interior furnishing can completely transform your space, boost your mood or highlight a unique architectural detail,” says Furukawa.

Decorating experts at Goodrich Global which includes its service and installation teams have been instrumental in delivering beautiful spaces working closely with interior designers and architects. The company has 500 employees across 30 regional offices and galleries in Singapore, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, India, Vietnam, Philippines, Myanmar and the Middle East. To date, Goodrich has amassed over 100,000 successful project references in these countries.

According to Furukawa, the future for spaces are not simply looking aesthetic but also functional and luxurious. He pointed out that unlike paints, wallcovering gives an instant, dramatic lift to any room, and covering a room with pattern or texture can cocoon the space and give it an intimate feel. It also allows one to have some fun with the design or personalised an otherwise plain room. He shares key trends to lookout for in interior furnishings.

Specialty walls

As homeowners’ and designers’ tastes are globalised and sophisticated, wall furnishings are becoming more handcrafted and branded too.

Branded wallcoverings from Goodrich include collections inspired by Italian supercar manufacturer Lamborghini, the renowned Dutch painter Van Gogh and fashion designers Victor&Rolf.

High performance artistry

High performance wallcoverings can be beautiful and luxurious. Wall panels can be customised from design specifications for hospitality, residential and office projects.

Shield leather is another commercial grade material that can be fashioned on walls. The faux and eco-friendly leather is highly resilient with properties such as anti-microbial, easy to clean and fire-retardant.

Murals

Not only for walls, murals can also be fashioned on flooring too.

Scenes inspired by nature, shapes and colours are becoming popular to achieve the exquisite bespoke look.

Customised designs for the floor can be applied for a wall to wall carpets and carpet rugs.
Vinyl flooring is popular as it is easy to install and eco-friendly. Trending designs include patterns in chevron and duotone.
