Race to the top
In one of their notable projects for the 2018 edition of the Singapore Formula 1, JIA was tasked to design the festival village and corporate suites that would be constructed specially for the three day event.
Part of their responsibilities involved the efficient space planning of the festival village. The revamp culminated in the construction of the APEX, a three-storey building with extensive food and beverage options. With the space more than doubled, racegoers can catch a glimpse of the speeding automobiles from different vantage points, as well as relish the full race experience including the post-race entertainment acts from within the club-like atmosphere.
For the corporate suites, JIA explored a twin approach in the design of the 20-pax club suites – clients are offered freedom of choice between a fun or corporate style that have been reworked with a new theme converging on the Formula 1 races. A top down revamp of the suite now includes sleek accents of the racecourse emblazoned onto the carpet flooring and ceiling for a visually impactful experience.
In the coming months, JIA will see more exciting projects ahead which include a series of hospitality projects in Bhutan and the revival of the last surviving kampong in Singapore.
At the premium outdoor lounge areas, pass holders can overlook the cars navigating the final turns of the Marina Bay Street Circuit from within plush seating areas.
Luxe aesthetics in the multiple entertainment areas within the APEX will be the pinnacle of post-race celebrations.
A rendering of the new redesign includes a pavilion for the holding of community events and the preservation of tradition and culture for ‘The Cha Project’ in Kolkata, India.
In the design of the Sun & Moon Hotel in Cambodia’s busy capital, Phnom Penh, the design team proposed a series of logs to incorporate the company’s vibrant logo across a feature wall.
